Big Algae Bloom Caused By Influx Of Nutrients

76 degree surface water
Boards are back in dam
Bluegills are everywhere
  • The bluegill fishing has been good to very good. The big gills are just finishing up spawning and moving to the weed edges. Red worms or waxworms are the bests baits.
  • Northern pike are showing up in big numbers. We are seeing a lot of fish from 12'' to 24''. These fish are the result of some superb spawning on the east side of the inlet.
  • Lake Trout action has been really good west of the bay. Most of the fish have been coming from 80-100 ft of water. Suttons spoons, apex, and minnow harnesses have been working.
  • Smallmouth action has been very good. There is a good top water bite early in the day and right at dusk.
  • Crappies have moved to the weed edges and are hitting on any minnow imitating jig. Beetle spins work really well.
