Spring-like Temperatures Will Test The Ice
- Be careful in the bay, the piers are being aerated, and the road bed will start to open with all the sun and the current running through the bay from the runoff.
- The west end road bed will start to get treacherous with all of the bright sun so avoid this area.
- The shorelines are starting to get a lot of water on them and will start to open up this week.
- Fishing has been very quiet. The game fish season is closed and will open again on the first Saturday of May. You may fish for Lake Trout (need trout stamp), catfish, all panfish, White Bass, and Cisco. Remember there is a season on spearing rough fish in Green Lake County. The suckers and any other rough fish that run up the small streams are not open until April 21st.
- CITY BOAT LAUNCH FEES ARE NOW REQUIRED! $5.00 daily
$20.00 annual city resident
$30.00 annual non-resident
- By the way---I am classified as a non-resident because my home address is in the Town of Brooklyn. I think now, to a tiny degree, I may know how Chief Highknocker felt .
- The city is pursuing an ordinance which will prohibit ''power loading'' at any city landing. The wording in the ordinance right now -''you must stop motor power with in 10ft of your trailer''. I agree that no one should be able to ''auger'' the motor once your boat is on the trailer but all of the new trailers are designed to ''power load''. This has been tabled for 60 days. You be the judge of all the new regulations. I cannot be a fair evaluator, it frustrates me as a business person to think the city may push what little traffic we have in the off season out of town.
