- Bluegills have moved to the shallows. The most under rated spot on the lake is the bay east of the inlet bridge. This spot needs to be navigated carefully due to submerged stumps and shallow water.
- Largemouth have started to spawn. Work outside edges of bays and channels for spawned out females and leave the beds alone.
- Lake Trout are biting good with very little pressure. 55-90 Ft of water for the trollers, and jig fisherman continue to catch fish shallower. Minnows or Sutton spoons with Herring Dodgers have been hot.
- Northern are still shallow and will bite on any minnow or minnow imitation. Numerous fish from 12'' to 24''. Release these small fish carefully and we will all be catching 30''+ fish in 2 yrs.
- Walleyes should start turning on with the limited visibility. Cast the East end or West end with small cranks or troll shad raps for best results. We are about 10 days away from the leech/crawler bite.
- Smallies have moved shallow with the males building nests. Numerous egg laden females have been caught. I saw a female smallmouth spawned out today. Leave the ''lime green with white belly'' males to protect the nests. The females will be dark with a gray belly. 18'' fish are typically 10-12 yrs old.
- White Bass should move shallow to spawn with the increase in water temperature. When you find them, they will be in good numbers.
