- Bluegills can be found in the channels,Dartford Bay, Beyers Cove, and close to the piers. There is a lot of small fish mixed in with the keepers at this time.
- Largemouth are staging. Remember if you keep or move a male bass off his bed the eggs and fry will not survive! These fish will be peak spawning on Memorial Day. Catch and Release instantly if you must fish these Bass!
- Lake Trout continue to bite. This should be a hot ticket through June. The water temperatures are low enough for these fish to be anywhere. The most popular depths are 35'-100' of water. 3'' minnows or Sutton spoons work well.
- Northern Pike are cruising the shallow weed beds. Fisherman casting minnow imitations are catching numerous small fish.
- Walleyes are done spawning and still hanging around the shallows. Most of the fish caught are during low light or windy conditions.
- Smallmouth have come to the shallows. The east end, with the warmest water, has produced some nice fish. These fish will start to make their spawning beds this week. Please remember the males you take for a ride will not be guarding our fish for the future.
- White Bass should start showing up at the bridges and windward shores. These fish have no size limit and no bag limit and are excellent table fare from Big Green.
